About Proletariat Soup
Proletariat Soup is a creative project exploring radical metamorphosis and soft rebellion.
Hi, I’m Kylie. I’m an artist, writer, and zine-maker who’s happiest when I’m deep in a project, traveling with my family, or playing cozy games. My creative passions are multifaceted - it could include creating a zine, painting something bright and chaotic, or writing about whatever I’m currently obsessed with. Most of my work revolves around transformation and how the seen and unseen parts of life shape the way we move through the world.
I’m a proud millennial, ADHD-er, and enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma - a combined identity that shapes a lot of how I think about art and meaning. Creatively, I'm inspired by my travels, dada, my childhood, Indigenous futurism, and interpretive writing. I'm currently a full-time graduate student studying Native American Leadership. With my work, I want to explore avenues of community building through art, idea sharing, and DIY publishing.

Outside of painting, I make zines that mix art, research, and personal reflection. I like exploring big ideas in a way that feels approachable. Things like solitude, nature, and how symbolism and language shape the way we understand ourselves. My background in interpretation with the National Park Service also influences a lot of how I write and think. I’m always trying to connect people to something deeper, whether that’s a landscape, a story, or a feeling.
Overall, my work sits somewhere between DIY culture, personal narrative, and soft intellectualism. I don’t have all the answers, but I always have questions.
Thanks for being here.
-Kylie
